WWF Zimbabwe receives award

WWF Zimbabwe has received an Environmental Stewardship Award at the 2020 Environmental Stewardship, Responsible Business and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Awards.
The award was presented by Zimbabwe’s Minister of Environment, Climate Change, Tourism and Hospitality Industry, Hon. Nqobizitha Mangaliso Ndlovu, at a ceremony held in Harare at the end of November.
 
This year, the Awards, organized by The Environmental Management Agency (EMA) together with the Corporate Social Responsibility Network Zimbabwe (CSRNZ), ran under the theme: Celebrating Sustainability Excellence- Towards Achieving Vision 2030. 
 
Said CRSNZ director Willard Razawo, “EMA and CSRNZ applaud and appreciate WWF Zimbabwe’s continued efforts of taking a lead in supporting issues of sustainability in Zimbabwe.”
 
Award recepients were mobilized from diverse sectors and industries, which have created a positive impact towards Zimbabwe’s sustainable development. 

EMA environmental education and publicity manager, Ms Amkela Sidange, said WWF Zimbabwe especially stood out for its work with partners on environmental management initiatives, and commitment to sustainable livelihoods.

WWF has been working in Zimbabwe since 1985.  Most of the organisation’s work has been implemented in two priority landscapes namely: the Kavango-Zambezi Transfrontier Conservation Area
(KAZA) and Mid Zambezi.
