Wetland Ecosystem goods and services project
WWF Zimbabwe has been supporting the Government of Zimbabwe around its ratification to the Ramsar Convention on wetlands and the designation of seven wetlands as Ramsar sites in the country. These seven sites are; Chinhoyi Caves, Cleveland Dam, Driefontein Grasslands, Lake Chivero and Manyame, Mana Pools National Park, Monavale Vlei and Victoria Falls.
WWF-Zimbabwe is continuing working within wetlands in partnership with the Environment Management Agency to establish a robust methodology for objectively assessing wetlands ecosystems goods and services in urban and communal wetlands.
- Establishing methodologies for assessing wetlands goods and services
- Conducting an ecosystem goods and services evaluation of Driefontein and Monovale Ramsar sites
- Propose best practices for the use of wetlands following the assesment
